On June 2, William Morrow will unleash THE STRAIN, the first chapter in a new Vampire Trilogy from filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (PANS LABYRINTH, HELLBOY) and Hammett Award-winning author Chuck Hogan (PRINCE OF THEIVES, THE KILLING MOON).

The publisher recently posted a new video (see it below) in which Del Toro talks about his love of the Vampire genre, and his inspirations for THE STRAIN TRILOGY. "When I was a kid growing up, I used to love reading a good vampire story - but a very good vampire story. None of this romantic, languid, young men sucking the necks of beautiful people. I loved the really chilling stories of the undead, that made you realize the horror of the scary void of an animated corpse that lusts after human blood." he said. They have always been here. Vampires. In secret and in darkness. Waiting. Now their time has come.
