Heard nothing but amazing things about LET THE RIGHT ONE IN...don't see how the Mummy movie is considered horror?

The nominees for the 35th Annual Saturn Awards were announced today, and fright features went largely unrepresented among the multiple noms for the likes of THE DARK KNIGHT, IRON MAN, et al. Among horror/creature features, only HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY and LET THE RIGHT ONE IN scored multiple nods, taking three each.
Guillermo del Toro’s sequel is up for Best Horror Film as well as Best Make-Up (Mike Elizalde) and Best Special Effects (Michael J. Wassel, Adrian De Wet, Andrew Chapman and Eamonn Butler). The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and Whatever Films We Feel Like Nominating have LET THE RIGHT ONE IN competing for Best “International” Film—quotation marks ours, as aside from SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (?), the other movies in this category are the English-language, partially or fully U.S.-financed likes of THE BANK JOB, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, IN BRUGES and TRANSSIBERIAN. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is additionally up for Best Screenplay (John Ajvide Lindqvist) and Best Performance By a Younger Actor (Lina Leandersson). Also nommed for Best Horror Film are THE HAPPENING, THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, QUARANTINE, SPLINTER and THE STRANGERS.In the TV area, FRINGE and SUPERNATURAL are up for Best Network Television , while DEXTER and TRUE BLOOD placed in the Best Syndicated/Cable Televison Series race. Also nominated are DEXTER’s Michael C. Hall for Best Actor, Jennifer Carpenter for Best Supporting Actress and Jimmy Smits for Best Guest Starring Role; TRUE BLOOD’s Anna Paquin and FRINGE’s Anna Torv for Best Actress; and the vampire-themed THE LIBRARIAN: THE CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE for Best Presentation on Television and Best Actor (Noah Wyle).
Fangorian fare is well-represented in the DVD departments, with COLD PREY, THE DEATHS OF IAN STONE, JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER, RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION, STARSHIP TROOPERS 3: MARAUDER and STUCK up for Best DVD Release; THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF Director’s Cut, DARK CITY Director’s Cut and THE MIST Collector’s Edition competing for Best Special Edition; THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY and PSYCHO Legacy Series receiving nods in the Best Classic Film category; the Ghost House Underground set up for Best Collection; and MOONLIGHT: The Complete Series and REAPER: Season One in the running for Best Television Series.
