We're big fans of Danny Elfman here at FANGORIA, and some of us also have a soft spot for giant robots and cyborgs hellbent on the destruction of humanity. So when word came down that the man behind the scores of BEETLEJUICE, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, and BATMAN would be laying down the storytelling sonics of TERMINATOR: SALVATION, we got more than a little bit excited.
MTV Movies Blog broke the news last night that Elfman would indeed be handling the score after catching up with him at the Critic's Choice Awards. But what of the famous TERMINATOR synth theme?
“I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it],” Elman said. “And if it doesn’t, we [won't]. I never really know what to expect when I begin other than just kind of get into it and have fun. Especially a movie like “T4” – just have fun. So that’s what I intend to do.”
TERMINATOR: SALVATION arrives in theatres on May 22, 2009.
